The conference was founded by the Laboratory of 2D Optoelectronics and Nanoelectronics (L2DON) of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) led by Prof. Yury Illarionov. In 2024 and 2025 the event was hosted by L2DON in Shenzhen, China with the internal support of the Nanofabrication Lab (led by Prof. Xing Cheng) and the Ultrafast Nano-Spectroscopy Lab (led by Prof. Jinhui Zhong) of SUSTech. Moscow State Pedagogical University (represented by Dr. Roman Akasov) and Bauman Moscow State Technical University (represented by Prof. Evgenii Aleksandrov) served as external co-organizers. On 19-22 May 2026 the next edition named 3rd Open BRICS+ Conference on Novel Materials and Devices (BRICS + 3OCNMD) will be hosted by Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Moscow, Russia. We will invite top-level speakers to present their top results in various areas related to novel materials and devices, which are not limited to:
Electrical, optical and mechanical properties of 2D materials (graphene, TMDs, black phosphorus, etc)
Emerging devices based on 2D materials, thin film semiconductors, etc
Advanced modeling of material properties, including prediction of new materials
Advanced TCAD modeling of semiconductor devices
Smart materials for health care and environmental applications
Integrated circuits and emerging methods of integration
Materials and devices for quantum technologies, quantum algorithms and computing
The conference will include oral plenary/invited talks by distinguished speakers and poster presentations by students, as well as round table discussions about future of BRICS+ research collaboration and funding programs. We expect to have representatives of as many BRICS+ countries as possible, an also invite our friends from Europe, USA and other countries outside the BRICS+ community.

Laboratory of 2D Optoelectronics and Nanoelectronics (L2DON)
Laboratory of 2D Optoelectronics and Nanoelectronics (L2DON ) (Website: https://www.l2don.com/) is led by Prof. Yury Illarionov and belongs to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China. Our research is centered around devices based on 2D materials, mainly field-effect transistors and photodetectors. While our laboratory is new, recently we have got all facilities for device nanofabrication and electrical characterization and started the first experiments. At the moment we are mostly focused on modeling of the reliability of field-effect transistors with 2D channels using advanced TCAD tools and compact models.

The 3rd Open BRICS+ Conference on Novel Materials and Devices (BRICS+ 3OCNMD) will be hosted by Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU).
Bauman Moscow State Technical University was founded in 1830 by the Emperor Nicholas I. Initially it was known as the Imperial Moscow Technical School that trained engineers for industry and transportation. Currently BMSTU is a national research university and the flagship of Russian engineering education which consistently ranks 1st in the rankings of technical universities in the country. The BMSTU's mission is to create a scientific and technological future and educate new generations of high-qualified engineers. The University trains engineering personnel for the most advanced and high-tech branches of science and technology. The education is based on the principle of combining theory and practice ("Russian method of teaching").
Today, Bauman Moscow State Technical University is Russia's leading technical university, training highly qualified specialists in mechanical engineering, energetics, electronics, computer science, and other technical sciences.
Address: Brigadirsky Pereulok 13, Moscow, Russia
Dates: 19-22 May 2026
